Quest LevelsIn a classroom, we often have "Units" that cover a certain collection of topics. In games, there is often a Dungeon or "level" that has a common theme or idea behind it. Well, in our classroom, we are combining both concepts and creating Quest Levels to lay out our work for the course. Here are the basics you need to know:
Quest Level Themes - Each Quest Level has a general theme as a unit, and it covers a core set of concepts. They progress from Simple Machines in the Beginner Level to Robotics in the All-Star and Epic Levels. Completing a Quest Level - Sometimes you need to do all the Quests to finish the Quest Level, and other times you need to do only half. Each level varies depending on the concepts. Progressing through Quest Levels - And like many video games, the Quest Levels are linear. To advance through our Gamified classroom, you will need to move from Beginner to Novice, Amateur, Expert, Professional, All-Star and then Epic. As for the Legendary, you will learn more about that below. Farming Quest Levels - Like many games, sometimes you finish a Level without doing everything in it. The same can happen here. Some Quest Levels may require that you only do 3 of the 6 Quests in the Quest Level. However, this is where you have choice. You can either choose to move ahead to the next Quest Level or you can choose to "farm" your current Quest Level - which means you can do the rest of the assignments and earn XP for what you do! |
